{"id":729,"date":"2020-03-03T00:00:35","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T23:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forworld.redemptor.pl\/?p=729"},"modified":"2020-03-31T07:56:55","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T06:56:55","slug":"729","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forworld.redemptor.pl\/en\/729\/","title":{"rendered":"The Manner of Performing the Work of Evangelization"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Manner of Performing<br \/>\nthe Work of Evangelization<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>The first 2 Constitutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tell us about the Mission of the Congregation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0The first section<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> talked about the missionary work of the Congregation 3-5<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>The second section<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> includes the missionary work of the Congregation.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make the abundant redemption of Christ to reach everyone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the explicit announcement of the Word and with the testimony of life.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To achieve conversion to Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The third section focuses on how to carry out Evangelization.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What characterizes the evangelization of the Redemptorists, is not the concrete forms, but the ways of carrying out the evangelization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Constitutions 13 to 20 stop in this regard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And they point out three ways that identify us in the Church:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Missionary dynamism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation with the Church.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the dialogue with the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0We begin with the first aspect: Missionary dynamism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Constitution 13<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reminds us that in carrying out its mission, the Congregation seeks to act with bold initiatives and with tense dynamism<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Audacity and dynamism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Audacity, which speaks to us of courage, of boldness, of being fearless when it comes to speaking, to act, to look for new forms and new styles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dynamism: talking about the ability to change, to take further actions quickly. That is why we are invited not to be afraid of looking for new ways to carry out the mission, ways that respond at all times to the psychology of people, to their forms of expression, to relate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Constitution 14<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> names this reality: missionary dynamism, which, rather than focusing on concrete forms, seeks to serve the poorest and most needy men and women, trying to reach their level and using their cultural world and language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Constitution 15<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> asks the Redemptorists two fundamental attitudes to be able to act with that missionary dynamism: freedom and availability<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Freedom and availability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> concerning the groups they evangelize,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That means <\/span><b>we don&#8217;t tie ourselves to specific groups of people<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with whom we can feel identified.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And above all, <\/span><b>we do not settle in particular structures, places, or situations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but we are available to go where we are needed at all times.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It means that we are open to looking for new presences and new ways that respond better to the specific moment we are living.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From our conviction, <\/span><b>Constitution 16<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reminds us that <\/span><b>we have to assess the various ways in which we have responded<\/b> <b>over time <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to pastoral urgencies to missionary priorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And likewise, <\/span><b>be open to accepting new forms in the future that respond to those same priorities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And an important question that we must ask ourselves is, who is responsible for determining what the priorities of each moment are and the missionary forms with which we have to respond at each moment?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Constitution 17<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reminds us that it is all confreres who should seek together priorities and answers, especially when they meet in the Provincial Chapter and with the Consent of the General Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a critical appreciation because many times, we can be tempted to think that everyone can and should look for who is the most abandoned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yet it is necessary always to remember that it is the Congregation that has received a specific assignment, and therefore<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we must look together who are our recipients,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and periodically evaluate whether the means of evangelization that we use meet the expectations of each moment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The second aspect of this third section tells us about Cooperation with the Church.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Constitution 18<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an invitation in this regard for congregants and communities to harmonize their work with the programs of the Universal and Local Church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Redemptorists <\/span><b>owe ourselves to the universal Church<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and therefore we are subject to the authority of the Supreme Pontiff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But we cannot forget that, by the principle of exemption, <\/span><b>we depend on the Ordinary of the diocese<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, on the bishop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>There is no point in pastoral work if we do it outside the Church<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our task as redeemers is to help the Church reach the Gospel to all the most remote corners, especially the most abandoned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence the <\/span><b>Redemptorists are asked to, from the apostolic fraternity, make ourselves present in the missionary structures and works of the dioceses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially in areas where ordinary pastoral care does not reach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>And we come to the third aspect of the third section, which is the dialogue with the world.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Redemptorists are people of the people:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We know the people, their concerns and aspirations. Their way of living and feeling. Their interests and expectations<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only from there can we carry a message of salvation to the men and women of our time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is the invitation that <\/span><b>Constitution 19 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gives us:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span>have adequate knowledge and experience of the world<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>To engage in dialogue with cultures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, without being afraid of getting dirty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We remember the <\/span><b>words of Pope Francis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u201cI prefer an injured, wounded and stained Church to go out to the street, that a Church sick from confinement and the comfort of clinging to its securities. I don&#8217;t want a Church worried about being the center, and that ends in a tangle of obsessions and procedures.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Constitution <\/span><b>invites us to know the concerns and needs of today&#8217;s man so that we can respond from the Gospel to his interests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Without forgetting that God loves the concrete man and woman, also those of today.
